That's right.

I just got back from a trip to St. Louis this past weekend to see patients and Monday afternoon I couldn't turn my neck to the left without stabbing pain...has this ever happened to you?

Why my neck suddenly didn't turn to the left:

-I carried heavy bags on my shoulders which put pressure on the vertebrae in my neck and upper back

-I had been stressed several times over the weekend worrying about getting to the train station on time

-I had only a small amount of nuts for breakfast two days in a row instead of my usual breakfast of 2 eggs and some meat protein...right before I worked on patients for several hours at a time.  My blood sugar got too low.

-I did not drink my water requirement just before and during the trip, so I was dehydrated.

I see these kinds of neck trauma and injuries all the time at the office.  Patients will carry heavy bags when they travel and then come back home with their neck and back out of alignment.  This can cause symptoms including a little neck pain, tingling or numbness down the arms, lack of range of motion, or even stabbing pain when trying to turn the head

I ask my patients about their water intake, food and protein intake, rest, and activities they had participated in the last few days before they had a problem.  In almost every situation, in one or more areas they had not taken care of their body's needs

Trust me, right after my neck suddenly didn't turn to one side without excruciating pain, I was asking myself the same questions, and then it all made sense.

 What did I do?

I called my chiropractor IMMEDIATELY and was adjusted.  Over the course of two days I was adjusted 4 times due to the severity of pain I was experiencing.  (Note: typically I would not adjust a patient this frequently, but due to extreme pain levels, this level of care was warranted).  I wanted relief fast!

Two days later I am 90% better!  I am so grateful for Chiropractic care! I also got right back on track with my protein and water intake to speed up my results.  I NEVER want to experience this again!

Chiropractic care works wonders with neck pain, torticollis, lack of range of motion, headaches, migraines, and TMJ.  All of those conditions can be caused by injuries and stress, and exacerbated by poor blood sugar management, dehydration, lack of rest, and extreme physical activity.  A thorough evaluation by an experienced Chiropractor can be the first step in reducing or eliminating these problems.  Chiropractors are educated in whole body wellness, and I treat my patients from a whole body wellness perspective to empower them to regain and maintain their health!
