Kansas City Acupuncture Clinic Helps Elbow Tendonitis, Tennis Elbow

Is your elbow aching as a result of a sports injury or spending too much time on the computer? Did you twist your arm just the wrong way and now you have to wear a brace for your elbow to feel better? Wanting to avoid injections of medications and steroids?
As a Chiropractor, I have treated many cases of elbow tendonitis aka tennis elbow and gotten fabulous results with Chiropractic. Recently a patient called and wanted Acupuncture for their elbow tendonitis, and I had the opportunity to use Acupuncture as the first line of treatment for their chronic elbow pain. His elbow pain was 50% better after his first visit! How did it get better so fast? Keep reading...
After thoroughly discussing his history, I used a tool called Acugraph to measure his Acupuncture meridians. Meridians are pathways where energy travel in the body. Acupuncture meridians can have their energy be in balance, too low (deficient), too high (excessive), or split (more than 25 points difference between the left and right side readings in the same pathway). Usually when a patient comes in to my office complaining of pain, there are several meridians that are out of balance that travel through the area of pain.
For his treatment I used a combinations of the points indicated on his Acugraph chart, as well as a techique called "surround the dragon" where needles are placed around the area of pain. With the majority of my patients I also add in points to relax their mind, and bring more peace into their heart. Stress is one of the biggest contributors to illness, so I always work on relaxing the patient as well. This person was still grieving the loss of their spouse, so adding in points to help the emotional state were important.
When the patient returned for their second visit, they were happy to report that overall they were feeling much better and their elbow pain was already 50% better from ONE Acupuncture treatment!
